how is life cycle of oak tree and pumpkin the same and how are they different

How are they different? Both start as a seed, and then grow to a seedling. The oak tree does not grow fruit that protects the seeds, instead it grows hard seeds (acorns). The life cycle of an oak tree is 20 years, where as a pumpkin is about 3 months.
