How is male germ cell different from female germ cell?

The cell that gives rise to gametes of an organism is known as germ cell. There is no basic difference between male and female germ cells apart from their genetic constitution. Female germ cells are homozygous i.e. having XX chromosome, while those of male germ cells are heterozygous i.e. having XY chromosome
