How is matter classified? what is the basis of classification?

Everything that engage a space as well as has mass is said to be Matter.



Matter is broadly classified into two parts which are based on its properties as physical and chemical.


This can further be classified as solid, liquid and gas on the basis of physical properties. considering the chemical properties matter can be bifurcated further into elements, mixtures and compounds.
