Melting of ice is a physical change because -

  • Melting of ice does not includes any changes in the molecular representation of ice. The H2O formula remains the same even when the ice is melted

  • Melting of ice is a reversible change. You can melt the ice by providing heat & then again make ice out of the water by removing heat, or cooling down the temperature.
