how is melting point related to intermolecular forces of attraction? Why is latent heat of vapourisation higher than latent heat of fusion?

higher the inter molecular force higher the melting point will be.
since the intermolecular force will more then more energy(in the form of heat) will be required to overcome the force of attraction and hence the melting point will increase.........
latent heat of vaporization is more since more enegy is required to convert liquid to gas(gas has the least force of attraction between its molecules) as compared to latent heat of fusion in which solid is converted to liquid...........
