The start: Menarche is the name given to the first menstrual period, which usually occurs between the ages of 11 and 16. The end: Menopause is that point in time when periods stop permanently. It is also called the "change of life" or "climacteric". Hormones are the boss of this process.

menarche is begging of mensuration (in teenage)
while menopause is end of mensuration (btw 45-55)
