The MNREGA(Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) ensures 100 days of work in a year to all those who are unemployed and willing to do work in rural areas. If the government fails to provide employment, facilities are provided to the unemployed. The activities that would improve the productivity in agriculture would be given priority.
