hlo dear
When we drink milk, the milk passes through buccal cavity to pharynx to oesophagus to stomach. the gastric glands which are present in stomach produce gastric juice this gastric juice contains enzyme called pepsin which acts on proteins especially when the gastric juice which contains pepsin acts on molecules of proteins of milk the pepsin which is in gastric juice breaks down the molecules of proteins into simpler substances.these simpler substances are known as peptones and later when these are passing through small intestines, intestines absorb the proteins.
