How is mixing of oxygen-rich and carbon dioxide rich blood prevented in humans

There are separate vessels for each one of them. Talking about the mixing of oxygen-rich and carbon dioxide-rich components not mixing they are separated by the alveoli Walls inside the lungs further they travel in different directions to avoid the collusion.
