The movement of a shoot towards light is a tropic movement whereas movement of leaves of a sensitive plant is a nastic movement i.e. it is not a directional movement. In nastic movements, plant cells change shape by changing the amount of water in them, resulting in swelling or shrinking, and in changing shapes.

the movement of the leaves of the sensitive plant is due to independent of growth.......whreas the movement in other plants are caused due to dependent of growth i.e. hydrotrophism, chemotrophism, phototrophism, geotrophism etc
