Noise pollution is the the disturbing or excessive noise that may harm the activity or balance of human life. Noise pollution is certainly one of the greatest threat to the quality of human life. This situation is worsened by the community noise created by the modern living and scientific and technical advancement. Noise pollution can cause health problems in two aspects: 1) It is disruptive to human physiology thereby affecting cardiovascular and digestive system; 2) It can also affect emotional and as well as social well being.
Noise pollution affects both health and behavior of the humans. Unwanted sound (noise) can cause hypertension, high stress levels, hearing loss, sleep disturbances and other harmful effects. Noise not only effects human health, but at times, it may also affect man's daily working ability and his daily activities.
Ways to reduce noise pollution :- We can control noise pollution following ways.
1) Education and awareness about the consequences of noise pollution in massive scale through mass media.
2) Declaration of no-horn zone, where hospitals, educational institutions and residences are situated.
3) Planting trees along the roadside also reduces the noise pollution level.
4) Heavy fine should be imposed on the person who violates the rules.
