how is normal alcohol(ethanol) different from denatured alcohol?

Denatured alcohol contains a small portion of methanol which is done due to avoid exploitation of industrial preparation of alchohol . as the denatured alcohol is toxic so the workers won't consume it.

Where ethanol can b used in consumption as it is not dangerous
