India was named by Britishers because our religion was the oldest religion they considered us a tribe as Indians. Bharat was given on the name of King Bharat of Mahabharata whose successor was king Shantanu, not of Ramayana, the total land of India was the Contribution of King Bharat. That's why the whole land ruled by Bharat was called the Country Bharat.
