Oxygen is replenished or released in nature when green plants make the use of Carbon Dioxide to perform photosynthesis. During day time, atmosphere prevents most of the heat to pass through the earth's surface. During night time, inversely, it prevents the radiation to escape through the earth's surface.

we breathe in O2 from the atmosphere and give out CO2.

it CO2 is taken in the plants and O2 is released.

this way oxygen is replenished in the atmosphere
