Ozone is formed by chemical energy using the ultraviolet rays and three oxygen molecules.

Ozone is formed by the reaction between ultraviolet rays of the sun and atmospheric oxygen. The ultraviolet rays break 1 molecule of into 2 oxygen atoms. These 2 atoms are highly reactive and each atom combines with another molecule of oxygen to form ozone molecule. This reaction takes place in stratosphere when there is enough ultraviolet rays .
