Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally by chemical reactions involving ultraviolet radiation and oxygen molecules which make up 21 Percent of the atmosphere.

ozone is formed by the splitting of oxygen molecules by the action of Ultraviolet radiation by the sun. at first the UV rays breaks down the oxygen molecule present in the atmosphere into free oxygen atoms which are highly reactive.
O2=O+O
then these reactive oxygen atoms combines with the oxygen molecule present in the atmosphere to form ozone.
O +O2=O3
