Soil physical and chemical properties are depend on the texture of the soil and texture is depend on the particle size. In sandy soils the particle size is large and a lot of empty spaces are present which cannot hold a water while in fine textured soils such as clay and loamy soils , the particle size is small than sand and very little empty spaces are present and has the ability to hold more water in the soil.
