when meristmetic tissues lose the ability to divide then this converts into permanent tissue as they don't have any capacity to divide further..

Meristematic Tissue

Meristematic Tissues are the dividing tisssues present in the growing regions of the plant. Depending on the region where they are present, they can be classified into Apical Meristem, Intercalalry Meristem and Lateral Meristem.


How are Permanent Tissues derived from Meristematic Tissues?

Permanent tissues are derevatives of Meristematic tissues. Once meristematic tissues lose their ability to divide, they turn into Permanent tissues. They are classified into Simple Permanent tissues and Complex Permanent tissues.
