If we add water to the plaster of Paris it becomes hardened to form gypsum(CaSO4.2H2O) Reaction: CaSO4.1/2H2O + 1 1/2 H2O ——> CaSO4.2H2O (P . O . P) (Water) (Gypsum) And When gypsum is heated, it loses 1 1/2 modules of water of crystallization and forms plaster of Paris again
