** they control or influence those in power.

** sometimes two or more political parties form an alliance to contest election.

** if their alliance is elected they form a coalition government and share power.

** interest groups such as traders ,farmers,bissnessmen,industrialist have a share in government power either through participation in govt.communities or bringing influence on division making power.
