Photosynthesis -Plants make their own food generally in leaves ,with the help of sunlight,air,water.This process is called photosynthesis.
'Photo' means light and 'synthesis' means putting together.
Leaves are kitchen of the plant.The chlorophyll in leaves traps sunlight and uses it to make food.The also use carbon dioxide and water to make food.

Every living being need food to survive. So plants also prepare food to survive. Plants make their own food using energy from the sun with the process of "photosynthesis".

First here is the meaning of photosynthesis => " Photo " means light and "synthesis" means putting together.

Chlorophyll is the main pigment in plants and is used for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll collects the sun's energy and give plants their green colour.
Some of this food is used straightly away by the plant. Some of the food is sent off for the storage in places like roots (carrots), stems (potato). Some of the food is used to grow more of the plant such as leaves, stems, roots and flowers.
