The difference between the regeneration and reproduction is as follows:

Explanation:

  • The regeneration is a process of asexual mode of reproduction whereas the reproduction can be asexual or sexual.
  • In regeneration only one parent is involved to produce the progeny organisms whereas in reproduction one or more parents are involved to produce the organisms.
  • In regeneration process the parent organism get split or cut into parts through which new organisms are produced, the parent looses it's integrity whereas in the reproduction the parent cell may or may not always loose it's integrity on producing new organisms. For example, the bacterial cell divides into two daughter cells the parent cell looses it's integrity. The budding in yeast is another example where the parent organisms survives and the buds detach from the body to produce new organisms.
  • The regeneration can be seen in planaria only whereas the reproduction sexual or asexual can be seen in many simple and complex organisms.
