Hydra reproduces by budding where an outgrowth arises from the parent and develops into a new individual. Amoeba reproduces by binary fission in which the division of nucleus is followed by division of the cell resulting in two individuals.

Hydra reproduces by the process of budding in which a bud is formed as a small outgrowth on the parent body. This bud breaks off when mature and develops into another individual. The reproduction in amoeba is through binary fission. Genetic material is replicated and the parent cell is pinched off from the centre to form two daughter cells.
