How is resource different from gift of nature?

Actually, everything to us is gifted by nature (ex-trees,fuels,metals,air,solar energy etc) but most things can not be used in their natural form, things are converted into usable forms by humans;then they can be refers as resources , perhaps this is a difference(but it does not mean that can be refers as resources in their natural form) .
