yes respiration is different from breathing because in breathing only inhaling and exhaling of air takes place whereas in respiration the breaking down of food also takes place.

Respiration is a mechanical process in which lungs are include but in respiration breathing lungs are not include in respiration only exhale and inhale of air include.
