When we see any object, the image will formed in retina. From through Optic nerve it will transmitted the image formed on the retina to the retina to the brain in the form of electric signals. Thus our mind perceived the object.

The message of the image formed at the retina is picked up by the optic nerve and taken to the brain so that we can actually see. The optic nerve collect the visual signal from the retina, invert it on the way and transmit it to the brain, for us to see the erect object.
