How is s 1-cos@=2sin^2@/2

Here,

Here, 1 - cos@ = 2 sin^2@/2

Here, 1 - cos@ = 2 sin^2@/2 LHS = 1 - cos@

(we know that cos2X = cos^2X - sin^2X

cos2X = 2 cos^2X - 1

cos2X = 1 - 2 sin^2X )

from LHS and above formulas

1 - cos@

= 1 - (1 - 2 cos^2@/2)

= 1 - 1 + 2 cos^2@/2

= 2 cos^2@/2

= RHS
