Hi friend, Here is the required answer:-
In Mahabharata, Shantanu married Ganga on a condition that he would never ask her whatever she was doing. The babies she gave birth to, were flowed in water by her. Finally when Bhisma pitamah were born, Shantanu could not control himself and asked her about this. She left him away and gave her baby ( Bhishma ) to him.
