- Similes use words like "as" and "like" to compare. Example:
She was just like an angel.
She was as kind as an angel.
» Here, she is being compared to an angel. The words "like" and "as ____ as" also indicate to that point.
- Metaphors are used when a thing is being described to a thing which has the same qualities but or else it is unrelated to the thing being talked about. Example:
She was an angel.
- Personification is used when we personify or humanize an object which is non living. Like:
All of a sudden, the radio started screaming in irritation.
» Here, of course a radio cannot scream! Therefore, it is being personified. We are personifying a thing which is non living.
