The inner lining of the small intestine has numerous villi which increase the surface area for absorption. The villi are richly supplied with blood vessels which take the absorbed food to each and every cell of the body.

\textbf{HEY.. MATE HERE'S YUR ANSWER..}
__________
The absorption of food takes place in the small intestine.

In the small intestine there are some finger-like projections called villi(singular:villus). The villi are made up of thin wall that provides a shorter path for the diffusion of food and minerals. And it also has a large surface area that helps in the absorption of fatty acids in the blood stream.

Inside the villi there are microvilli that increases the absorption. The microvilli is covered with digestive enzymes that helps in breaking down carbohydrates and proteins and absorbs them.
