How is small intestine designed to absorb the digested food? Clqss 10?

zander07: small intestine has small finger like projections called villi which provide a large surface area for the food to get digested.

The inner lining of thesmall intestine has numerous villi which increase the surface area for absorption. The villi are richly supplied with blood vessels which take the absorbed food to each and every cell of the body.
