Democracy accommodates social diversity in the following ways:

It provide equality, liberty and fair representation to all people irrespective of their caste, creed, colour, race, religion, language or place of residence. For example, in India, discrimination among people on the basis of caste, class and gender is punishable by law.

It ensures that minority work in close cooperation with majority. It never gives unfair preference to majority community. For example, in Belgium, the rulers were willing to share power and accommodate the reasonable demands of minority community.

There is a tendency of gender discrimination everywhere in the world. Woman are discriminated in one way or the other. Democracy ensures equality of gender. The principle of gender equality is enshrined in the Indian Constitution in its Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties and Directive Principles.
