  • Electricity is passed in the aqueous solution of sodium chloride where Sodium metal gets deposited in the anode and chlorine gas gets deposited at the cathode.

  • This method is used to obtain the metals high in the reactivity as reducing agent cannot be used to obtain with these metals.

  • This method can also be used for other metals like Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium.
