How is soil built up and how it is eroded?

Soil is formed by the weathering of rocks. In this process rock rub against each other or foreign material to breakdown into smaller pieces until it forms soil. Different types of soil depend on the climatic conditions,fertility etc.

Soil erosion in some cases leads to landslides which can be harmful to the ecosytem. Soil gets eroded due to manmade changes in the environment. This can be fatal towards organisms living in and around the soil.
