its simple but pay attention
by 3 ways soil formed
Sun , water,living organism
ok so lets check each separately
Sun
ok so we know temp increase space between things increase similarly when sun there rocks widen and at night they contract but all parts of rocks not contract at same rate so form cracks.
and later these widen and break to form soil
Water
so when water gets between these cracks and freezes cracks widen hence causing faster break down. Also fast moving water rubs rocks together and breaks them.
living organism
so when lichen grows on rocks they release a chemical on the rocks and makes the rocks powdery and breaks them down.
when roots of plants get in cracks of rocks the roots later widen and cracks the rocks to form soil.
SO THESE ARE THE WAYS IN WHICH SOIL FORMS

Answer:

Parent materials

Soil minerals form the basis of soil. They are produced from rocks (parent material) through the processes of weathering and natural erosion. Water, wind, temperature change, gravity, chemical interaction, living organisms and pressure differences all help break down parent material.
