"It also harbors worms, beetles, fungi and bacteria, providing them with the nutrients they need to live. Without soil, there would be nowhere to grow food that is the sustenance of life. Soil contains food, water and air that is needed by plants to grow. The healthier the soil, the more nutrients a plant can soak up. "

The importance of soil for living things is:-

  • Soil provides all the useful nutrients to plant to grow flowers and seeds. It makes a plant healthy and gives longer life.
  • It absorbs and ejects harmful gases from the atmosphere like, carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor.
  • Soil provides a proper place for animals who live in the soil such as bacteria and fungi. It soaks, holds, releases, and clears the water in the subastral system and performs as a living filter for purifying water before using it.
  • It also recycled some important nutrients like carbon dioxide, so that we can use it again and again.
