the voice box or larynx is the most important source of sound in human being. To ligaments, normally called Vocal Cord, a stretched across the larynx in such a way that there exist a narrow slit between them for the passage of air.

the forced air from lungs through the slit makes the vocal code to vibrate and produce sound. Muscles attached to the vocal cords may increase or decrease their full-on ligaments. This makes the vocal cords to be tight or nose, thick or thin.

when the vocal cords are tight and thin, the voice of high frequency is produced. The loose and thick vocal cords produce a low frequency sound.
