Speed is the Magnitude of Velocity, ie. the rate of Change of Distance over Time. Average Speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval. The Speed you are talking about is the Instantaneous Speed which is not as Same as Average Speed.

⇛ Average speed is the total distance travelled by a body divided by the total time taken to cover that distance.
⇛ Speed is the distance covered by a body in unit time.
