All forms of life form the biosphere.
- The living organisms of the biosphere fall broadly into two kingdoms- the plant kingdom and the animal kingdom.
- In the biosphere, living organisms ranging from minute bacteria to large whales, plants, and animals of different sizes and shapes are found.
BIOSPHERE :
- The narrow sphere where the three realms, i.e., land, water, and air, meet is the home of living things. It is called the biosphere.
- This is the sphere that makes the earth a unique planet. This zone extends slightly above and below the surface of the land.
- There are about 10,00,000 varieties of animals and 30,000 varieties of plants. We find life forms on the surface of the earth's crust in the few kilometers of the lower atmosphere and even deep in the ocean.
- Human beings are an essential part of the biosphere.
- The three domains of the Earth's Atmosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere, interact and affect each other in some way or another.
- If one changes, the other also changes automatically. So, for example, the hydrosphere water may evaporate into the atmosphere but later come back as rain.
- The interdependence of all the realms Atmosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere of the earth is the important feel of life. If human beings interfere and create an imbalance between the plant and animal kingdom, the entire cycle of life may be affected.
