The plants have specialised tissue, aka, complex permanent tissue, which is responsible for the transportation of materials throughout the plants.Xylem and phloem are the 2 kinds of complex permenent tissue.Xylem is used for the transportation of water from the soil to different organs of the plant while the phloem is responsible for the transportation of food prepared in the leaves to the various parts of the plant.
ONE IMP THING TO NOTE IS THAT IN XYLEM ,THE FLOW IS UNIDIRECTIONAL,I.E.,ONLY IN THE UPWARD DIRESCTION BUT IN PHLOEM THE FLOW CAN BE UPWARD DOENWARD AND LATERAL AS WELL.
HOPE THAT HELPS U MY FRND.
