because cell membrane allows only particular materials like oxygen into it and it doesn't allow any type of germs
as it allows a selected particles,it is known as SELECTIVELY PERMABLE MEMBRANE

HI there ...

Plasma Membrane is known as Selectively Permeable Membrane.
It controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
Plasma Membrane allows the entry of only some substances.
Also , on the other hand , it prevents the entry / movement of some other substances
Hence , Plasma Membrane is known as Selectively Permeable Membrane.
