The Tempreture in mountains become colder the higher the altitude gets. Mountains tend to have much wetter climate than the surrounding flat land.

The climate of mountains generally depend on the altitude.
If they are of low altitude, then it is moderate climate during summers and cold in winter.
If they are of medium altitude then, it is moderate during summer days and slightly cold during summer nights. And in winter, it is chilly cold.
If they are of high altitude then, it is cold during summers and very cold during winter and can even experience snow fall.
If they are of very high altitude (above the snow line), it is extremely cold throughout the year and is covered with snow throughout the year.
Mountains are always cooler than the plain areas. The temperature of a place decreases with increasing height.
