How is the contour pattern of a mountain different from that of a plateau?

A topography map uses repeated contour lines to show the elavation and shape of a geographical object. A mountain is very steep, so it will have more contour lines to match the sharp incline all the way to the top.

This is an example of a side by side comparison of a contour and profile view. Compare his to a plateau.

The definition of plateau is shown above, and as you can see, it has contour lines at very small spaces intervals to denote the sharp incline, then a large void at the top to denote the flat surface. This is very different than mountain, which has repeated concentric lines all the way to the top
