How is the contour pattern of a mountain different from that of a plateau?
A topography map uses repeated contour lines to show the elavation and shape of a geographical object. A mountain is very steep, so it will have more contour lines to match the sharp incline all the way to the top.

The definition of plateau is shown above, and as you can see, it has contour lines at very small spaces intervals to denote the sharp incline, then a large void at the top to denote the flat surface. This is very different than mountain, which has repeated concentric lines all the way to the top
