How is the direction of current related to the direction of flow of electrons

Actually, electrical currents are flows of electrons. ... So, the electron flow is from the negative terminal of the battery, through the circuit, to the positive terminal. The actual flow of electrons is in the opposite directionto the conventional (but not real)current.
