Direction on current ie the conventional direction of current is opposite to that of the direction of electrons.
Current flows from the positive to negative terminal whereas electrons move from negative to positive.
This is so because earlier scientists used to think that flow of current is due to flow of protons (which would go from positive to negative) . However it was later discovered that such is not the case.
