How is the earth a source of life when all sun dead on it

my opinion on this is sun is the same as earth,  they both is source if life. if we don't have sun, we couldn't dry our laundry, we wouldn't have power source that used the sun's power, all of the earth is just plain dark, and I think human can't live in the earth if we doesn't have sun because all we have is winter.  try imagine that the earth all just plain north ice. even animal need sun light.

In the poem 'Keeping Quiet' the Earth is a source of life because it is never in a state of total inactivity even when there is silence all around. Nature continues to work even when everything is still and silent.
