Hey !!

For positively charged sheet, the field is directed away from the sheet.

For negatively charged sheet, the field is directed towards the plane sheet.

Good luck !!

The electric field is generally directed away from the sheet when it is positively charged. If the sheet is negatively charged, however, the electric field is directed towards the sheet's edges.

Directed if the sheet is positively charged and negatively charged

  • The direction of the field will be away from the sheet is positively charged.
  • The direction of the field will be towards the sheet if a sheet is negatively charged.
  • The electric field points to the left because the force on a negative charge is opposite to the direction of the field.
  • The electric field points to the right because the force on a negative charge is in the same direction as the field.
