H3C – C – (H3C) = O + CH3 -> MgBr -> CH3 – C – (CH3) – (CH3) – O-Mg+Br –in the presence of H2O-> Mg(OH)Br +CH3 – C – CH3 – CH3 – OH (2 – Methylpropan2 – 2 - ol)
When the propane and methyl magnesium bromide are treated together then the adduct substance will be produced.
Here that substance is treated in the presence of H2O will give out 2-methylpropane – 2 - ol.
