Himalayas are divided from west to east on the basis of rivers such as-
Punjab Himalayas- between Indus and Satluj rivers
Kumaon Himalayas- between      Satluj and Kali rivers
Nepal Himalayas-      between      Kali and Teesta rivers
Assam Himalayas-  between Teesta and Dihang rivers
