The southern part of India receives more sunlight than northern part which results into diversity of flora and fauna in our country. For example: In north we get tea, apples, dry fruits and medicinal plants etc. similarly from the south we get cotton, spices, mangoes and coffee etc.

Secondly, it helps in receiving monsoon from the southern part of India which lies in the warm tropical zone and from the northern part, the snow veiled Himalayas lying in the cool temperate zone is the source of perennial rivers to solve the problem of the water scarcity in the northern India.
